Five crystals from five worlds, each kept as a memory you play, then an archive of sixteen.

Case study / Shard of Light

The memory of the planet. A fan homage to Final Fantasy: five crystals from five of its worlds, each kept as a memory you play, on one shallow sea. Then Memoria, sixteen worlds, five remembered here.

The Memories

Hold to Remember

Choose a crystal and stir the wind, then hold to break it (V). Hold the cursor over the magicite and Terra wakes; hold to Trance (VI). Trace the Iifa Tree's roots to the source (IX). Click a blade, hold for the Armiger (XV). Move slowly and the pyreflies follow the summoner's staff; hold to perform the Sending (X).

Memoria

Sixteen Worlds, Five Remembered Here

An archive in the dark: each of the five games relived, then the three people the series grew from. Hironobu Sakaguchi, who made the first one thinking it might be his last game. Yoshitaka Amano, who drew its heroes, its monsters and its title logos. Nobuo Uematsu, who scored the first nine.
